Training
Vibration Analysis using Enpac 2500 with Emonitor Software
Course Code: VACBM
Duration: 4 Days
Register for course
Course Purpose:
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an ability to use the Enpac vibration data collector and Emonitor software. Basic operations including loading, unloading and collecting overall and spectrum data are presented as well as advanced measurement techniques such as time waveform collection, time synchronous averaging, phase measurement and spike energy spectrum collection. Two plane balancing and two channel applications are also covered.
This course will review the vibration concepts which underpin its use for condition monitoring such as:
- Instrument selection and setup of each measurement type
- Review of relationships between mechanical condition of machines and vibration
- Database organisation and navigation
- Plot tools and views for analysis of measurements
- Setting up and displaying alarms
- Practical exercises on a rotating rig assembly
Individuals who use a data collector and would like to learn about the instruments data collection and vibration analysis capabilities should attend this course.
Topic Outline:
- Review of condition monitoring and vibration basics
- Configuration of the data collector
- Navigate Enpac screens and setup options
- Create Emonitor hierarchy and locations
- Measurement definition options
- Define filters transducers and calibration
- Setting up collection specifications
- Setting up measurement definitions for magnitude, spectrum, gSE, time waveform, phase and numeric/process data
- Setting up alarms, lists and inspection codes
- Setting up communications
- Loading lists to the collector
- Unloading lists from the collector
- Collecting and reviewing data on the Enpac
- Collecting and reviewing off-route data
- Using the balancing option
- Database management in Emonitor
- History, Plots, Lists and Reports
- Navigating and using the Plot views
- Setting up band alarms in Emonitor
To successfully complete this course, students require experience with Microsoft Windows®.
Student Materials:
As part of the course package students will receive a Manual which covers how to use the Enpac data collector.
Hands-On Practice:
Hands-on practice is an integral part of learning and this course offers extensive hands-on opportunities. An in-class workstation allows students immediately to apply the knowldge they learn to real-world situations.
