Course Purpose:

This course is a skill-building opportunity for students who want to develop a fundamental knowledge of GuardPLC 1600/1800 systems and RSLogix™ Guard PLUS software. You will be introduced to GuardPLC safety standards, functionality and controller circuitry, controller components, and distributed I/O modules.

You will have hands-on opportunities to use RSLogix Guard PLUS software to establish communications with a controller. This course provides you with the resources and hands-on practice required to download a project to a GuardPLC 1600 controller and start a routine.

Who Should Attend:

Individuals who have no or little experience using GuardPLC 1600/1800 controllers should attend this course. Knowledge obtained in this course is required to successfully complete other courses in the GuardPLC curriculum such as: Topic Outline: Prerequisites:

To successfully complete this course, students must be able to perform basic Microsoft Windows® tasks, such as using a mouse, and moving windows.

Experience with industrial control applications is recommended.

To enhance and facilitate each student's learning experience, the following materials are provided as part of the course package: Hands-On Practice:

Hands-on practice is a necessary part of learning and this course offers hands-on opportunities for fundamental RSLogix Guard PLUS software tasks using a GuardPLC 1600 controller. (The GuardPLC 1800 controller is referred to in the course material, but the GuardPLC 1800 controller is not provided in the demo unit.) The demo unit can be configured to demonstrate the GuardPLC 1600 controller’s pulse-test ability as well as an ISO 13849-1 category 4 E-stop circuit.

In particular, you will gain hands-on practice with going online, downloading, and navigating through RSLogix Guard PLUS software.
