Course Purpose:

This skill-building course introduces concepts and techniques that will assist you in successfully maintaining and troubleshooting a PowerFlex 755 drive. You will learn how to recognize PowerFlex 755 drive hardware and properly wire the drive. You will also learn to diagnose specific faults.
Throughout the course, you will have the chance to use a variety of maintenance and troubleshooting tools, including:

• The A6 LCD HIM
• DriveExplorer™ software
• DriveExecutive™ software

After each demonstration, you will be given exercises that offer extensive hands-on practice using the PowerFlex 755 drive.
This two-day course can be taken as a stand-alone course, or it can be taken in conjunction with other courses in the PowerFlex curriculum for further skills development.

Course Agenda:
Day 1

• Identifying PowerFlex 755 Drive Hardware
• Locating PowerFlex 7-Class Drive Data Using the A6 HIM
• Monitoring and Modifying PowerFlex 755 Data Using DriveExplorer Software
• Monitoring and Modifying PowerFlex 755 Data Using DriveExecutive Software
• Clearing PowerFlex 755 Drive Alarms and Faults

Day 2

• Performing Predictive Maintenance Using PowerFlex 755 Parameters
• Troubleshooting PowerFlex 755 Load and Environmental Faults
• Troubleshooting PowerFlex 755 Equipment Malfunctions
• Integrated Practice: Maintaining and Troubleshooting a PowerFlex 755 Drive

Prerequisites:

To successfully complete this course, the following prerequisites are required:

• Ability to perform basic Microsoft® Windows® tasks
• Completion of the AC/ DC Motors and Drives Fundamentals course or Fundamentals of AC and DC Motors and Drives Web-based training or equivalent experience

Student Materials:
To enhance and facilitate each student's learning experience, the following materials are provided as part of the course package:

• Student Manual, which contains the key concepts, definitions, and examples presented in the course and includes the hands-on exercises.
• PowerFlex 750-Series AC Drives Documentation Reference Guide, which contains several relevant technical publications. This searchable, electronic resource contains the most frequently referenced configuration and troubleshooting information and is a quick and efficient on-the-job resource.
• PowerFlex 750-Series AC Drives User Manual, which includes wiring diagrams, start-up procedures, parameter lists, fault/alarm codes, and other configuration and troubleshooting tips.

Hands-On Practice:

Hands-on practice is an integral part of learning, and this course offers extensive hands-on opportunities. An in-class workstation allows students to replace PowerFlex 755 drive components and troubleshoot faults and alarms. The PowerFlex 755 drive workstation introduces real-world maintaining and troubleshooting situations into a classroom setting.
