Course Purpose:

This course provides you with the necessary resources and hands-on practice to efficiently troubleshoot a previously operational GuardLogix system. You will be introduced to GuardLogix system hardware and software components, functionality, terminology, and safety standards. You will also gain experience interpreting safety instructions using RSLogix™ 5000 software.

You will have hands-on opportunities to troubleshoot GuardLogix system components and CompactBlock™ Guard I/O™ modules. You will gain experience monitoring tag values and identifying I/O tags. In addition, you will learn how to search and print GuardLogix project components to help troubleshoot a project.

Individuals who need to monitor and troubleshoot RSLogix 5000 projects for GuardLogix controllers should attend this course.

To enhance and facilitate your learning experience, the following materials are provided as part of the course package: Hands-On Practice

Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to practice skills that you have learned through a variety of hands-on exercises. These exercises focus on the skills introduced in each lesson.

Once you learn the basic components of a GuardLogix system, you will monitor and troubleshoot a working project using RSLogix 5000 software. Specifically, you will interpret safety instructions, such as ESTOP, light curtains, and five position mode switch instructions, and monitor tag values. You will also troubleshoot GuardLogix system components and CompactBlock™ Guard I/O™ modules. You will also have an opportunity to learn how to identify whether a Safety Signature exists for a project and if a GuardLogix controller is safety locked.
