RSLogix V16.50 ControlLogix Redundancy

ControlLogix Redundancy allows a pair of redundant controllers to work as a unit in which the secondary controller chassis takes control if the primary controller chassis fails. The system is designed to minimize configuration/setup and automatically arbitrate replication configuration changes and updated data from the primary to the secondary. This solution can be applied to any system that requires the highest available uptime.

The following provides a list of capabilities available in V16.50 ControlLogix Redundancy:

• Support for Add-on Instructions (AOI) in redundancy application code
• User Manageable Program Synchronization Points (improved control of synch of data between the primary/secondary controllers and improves controller scan time when multiple programs are in project)
• Support for the ControlLogix 1756-L64 (16MB memory) in the redundant chassis
• Runtime firmware update in the redundant chassis from V15 to V16
• Runtime migration of controllers from a smaller L6x controller to a larger one (includes 1756-L61 to L62/L63/L64, L62 to L63/L64 and L63 to L64)

The Standard Configuration (firmware bundle V16.50Std) supports the following hardware:
• 1 1756-L61/L62/L63/L64 controller
• 1757-SRM redundancy module
• 1756-CNB(R) Series D or E ControlNet bridge
• 1756-ENBT EtherNet bridge
• 1756-EWEB
Note:
At a minimum, each chassis in the redundant system must contain at least 1 controller, 1 x 1757-SRM, and 1 x 1756-CNB/R; any combination of up to 6 other comms modules (1756-CNB/R, 1756-ENBT, 1756EWEB) is supported for your application needs.
