Course Purpose:
This course will introduce you to Ultra3000 digital servo drive capabilities, features, and benefits. You will learn to understand Ultra3000 model numbers and how they relate to output power. You will also learn the available I/O and the update times for the Ultra3000 regulators.
During this course you will learn how to wire an Ultra3000 digital servo drive. In addition, you will become familiar with the features and uses of Ultraware software and how it works in conjunction with Ultra3000 digital servo drives.
This course will cover various modes, such as Analog Velocity mode, Position Follower mode, and Indexing mode. You will also learn how to configure an Ultra3000 digital servo drive for SERCOS activation and how to activate the SERCOS interface in the Ultra3000 drive.
Who Should Attend:
Individuals who need to program Ultra3000 digital servo drives should attend this course. Individuals who need to design or maintain an Ultra3000 drive system could also attend this course.
Topic Outline:
- Ultra3000 Specifications
- Ultra3000 Wiring
- Ultraware Software
- Ultra3000 Demo Configuration
- Analog Velocity Mode
- Position Follower Mode
- Indexing Mode
- SERCOS
To enhance and facilitate each student's learning experience, the following materials are provided as part of the course package:
- Student Manual, which contains the topical outlines and exercises. Students will use this manual to follow presentations, take notes, and work through the exercises.
- Motion Control Glossary, which contains terms and definitions specific to motion control. This easy-to-use reference tool will help users understand motion control concepts and identify motion control terminology.
- Ultra3000 Installation Manual
- Ultra3000 Integration Manual
Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to practice skills you have learned through a variety of hands-on exercises.
You will practice connecting to the Ultra3000 DSD using Ultraware software and you will use the Control Panel in Ultraware software to spin the motor. You will also create a new Ultra3000 application, configure your Ultra3000 drive for Basic operation, and access the oscilloscope in Ultraware software to view drive signals.
During the hands-on exercises, you will also practice configuring parameters to operate the Ultra3000 workstation in Analog Velocity Mode and monitoring drive status using the Monitor Branch in Ultraware software.
Other hands-on practice opportunities include operating the Ultra3000 DSD as a Master Follower, configuring the Ultra3000 DSD to operate in the Indexing Mode, configuring digital inputs to control the Index operation, and configuring outputs to indicate an Event has occurred.
